2025/2026 University of Newcastle Africa Excellence Scholarship-The University of Newcastle in Australia is presently accepting applications for the 2025/2026 Africa Excellence Scholarships from interested and qualified students of African descent. African students with a high academic background who enroll in any of the University’s degree programs for the 2025/2026 academic year are eligible for the grant. The purpose of the Africa Excellence Scholarship is to draw exceptional overseas students to the University of Newcastle. It is a merit-based scholarship that honors candidates with a solid academic record and encourages them to keep pushing themselves to reach their full potential.

2025/2026 University of Newcastle Africa Excellence Scholarship Details
The purpose of the Africa Excellence Scholarship is to entice exceptional candidates to enroll at the University of Newcastle. This merit-based fellowship honors candidates with a solid academic foundation and encourages them to keep pushing themselves to reach their full potential. Academic merit is the basis for awarding the scholarships. Each year, over 100 scholarships are given out. Scholarships will be given out automatically to students who start their studies at the University of Newcastle after receiving an offer to enroll in a qualifying, non-quota program.
2025/2026 University of Newcastle Africa Excellence Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
In order to qualify for the 2025/2026 University of Newcastle Africa Excellence Scholarship, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Candidates must be citizens of one of the 54 African nations.
- Candidates must be starting coursework in an undergraduate or graduate program offered by the university that is eligible (with the exception of ELICOS, Enabling, Non-Award, Higher Degrees by Research, and programs offered at offshore campuses).
- Candidates must be enrolled as full-time international students.
- As stated in your Letter of Offer, applicants must be starting a qualified program at an Australian or online campus.
- A separate university scholarship cannot be awarded to applicants unless the institution has granted previous permission for a specific dispensation.
- In order to get a student visa and in the case that their eligibility for the scholarship is not maintained, applicants must fulfill all of the financial requirements of a full-fee paying foreign student, including the full tuition charge and additional expenses.
2025/2026 University of Newcastle Africa Excellence Scholarship Application Procedures
How to Apply: Students who accept an offer to enroll in an eligible, non-quota program and start their studies at the University of Newcastle will automatically be eligible for the scholarships. With their Letter of Offer, successful students will be informed of the scholarship’s worth. They should read the terms and conditions carefully and notify the university if they do not want to accept.
