The British Council Scotland Scholarship is a program funded by the British Council that enables worldwide research collaborations between Scottish Higher Education Institutions, Scotland-based academic mentors, and external organisations.
The British Council Scotland SGSAH EARTH Scholarships 2025 provide complete financial support to award recipients, including travel, hotel, and living expenses.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the British Council Scotland SGSAH EARTH Scholarships 2025, you must satisfy the following:
- Open to current PhD students in Arts and Humanities in a non-UK university.
- Open to Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in Arts and Humanities who have graduated from a non-UK university.
- PhD researchers can apply at any level, but they must provide a letter of support from their supervisor.
- ECRs must apply within one year of getting their PhD award announcement (not graduation).
- ECR eligibility can be extended for up to two years in specific circumstances such as caregiving or illness.
- Applicants must be pursuing or have finished a PhD in arts and humanities.
- Interdisciplinary PhDs must have at least 50% of their projects in the arts and humanities.
- The Programme is accessible to all eligible PhDs/ECRs registered for or with completed PhDs from outside of the UK, but will especially welcome applications from countries in the Global South and aligning
