The GRE is currently waived for the majority of Master’s and Specialists programs at Florida State University (except The College of Business). This waiver intends to make graduate study more accessible to prospective students.

We are taking graduate applications for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2025. Readmission students can apply for Spring 2025, Summer 2025, and Fall 2025. However, many academic programs only accept applications for a set term. Prospective applicants must contact the educational program to enquire about available terms.

Benefits

Many programs eliminate the GRE requirement, which lowers the hurdles to admission for graduate studies.

Requirements

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university in the United States or a similar degree from an international institution. Applicants must have a minimum GPA and, for some programs, provide standardised test scores.

Selection Process

Applicants are reviewed in two steps: the Office of Admissions determines eligibility for university entrance, and the academic department or college approves admission to the specific degree program. Admission decisions are made using academic criteria such as GPA, standardised test results, recommendation letters, transcripts, and other departmental requirements.
