German undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral scholarships in Heinrich Boll Foundation in 2025–2026.

The German undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral scholarships in Heinrich Boll Foundation in 2025–2026. are now accepting applications. The Green political foundation is the Heinrich Böll Foundation. Under the “promoting talent” banner, we annually assist around 1,200 undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate students from all fields and kinds of higher education institutions in Germany and beyond who support the Green project’s objectives. Up to 250 new scholarship recipients sign up for the program each year.

Future leaders and experts who are ready to assume social responsibility, have an interest in politics, and seek to spread the fundamental political principles of the Heinrich Böll Foundation—ecology and sustainability, democracy and human rights, self-determination and justice—are the target of the scholarships.

Target Audience

We try to combine the values of equal opportunity and great success while selecting the winners of our scholarships. The Heinrich Böll Foundation specifically (though not exclusively) takes into account:

  • International doctorate and graduate students from the Middle East, North Africa, the CIS, the EU’s neighboring states, transition and newly industrialized nations, and conflict areas, as well as from central and eastern Europe globally
  • science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) students, especially those concentrating on environmental science, ecology, etc.; economics and legal studies; art studies; and journalism (also see the scholarship program “Medienvielfalt, anders”).
  • refugees and members of ethnic minorities

Finances

Through scholarship funding—which often includes a maintenance grant, study and research grant, overseas study grant, mobility allowance, family allowance, and other categories—the Heinrich Böll Foundation helps young people. Furthermore, we support the scholarship recipients’ personal growth, assist them in acquiring cross-disciplinary credentials and improving their core competencies, foster multidisciplinary communication, and promote political discourse and social awareness.
