For the International Manga Award for Japan 2025, which aims to encourage worldwide cultural interchange through MANGA and propagate MANGA culture abroad, applications from appropriately qualified individuals are invited. The International MANGA Award was established in 2007 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Japanese Government with the aim of promoting global understanding and international exchange via the widely recognized MANGA culture.

- Three outstanding works receive Silver Awards.
- About eleven works receive Bronze Awards.
- Bronze Award winners receive certificates.
- Gold and Silver Award winners receive trophies.
- Special Encouragement Award for well-regarded manga not eligible for Silver Award.
Japan MANGA Award 2025 Qualifications
- Story writer or comic book artist must not be a native of Japan.
- Representative must not be a citizen of Japan for Gold and Silver Award recipients.
- Work must be protected by copyright and other legal rights.
- Authorized to provide Japan International MANGA Award Executive Committee usage rights.
- Authorized to submit for Japan International MANGA Award if publishing businesses outside Japan have consent.
- Grants permission to use work for non-commercial purposes like promoting manga culture.
- Acknowledges legitimate ownership of the work and acknowledges original paper submission will not be returned.
Japan International MANGA Award 2025 Application Process
- Interested parties must submit an application and supporting documentation.
- Submissions must be in hard copies, electronic PDF, or both.
