It has this afternoon been confirmed by Manchester United that forward Marcus Rashford will remain at Carrington after picking up a knock in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Fulham.
The 25-year-old sustained an injury in the buildup to Aleksandar Mitrovic’s opener at Old Trafford. The Englishman was then seen limping around until he was substituted in the 83rd minute.
Rashford will miss out on England’s Euro 2024 Qualifiers against Italy and Ukraine but should be fit for United’s trip to Newcastle on April 2nd.
It has been a whirlwind season for Rashford with him making just shy of 50 appearances for club and country. His wonderful goal against Real Betis last Thursday made it 30 goals for club and country this season.
He has become United’s most important player in recent weeks with him regularly finding himself on the scoresheet and turning in decent performances each game.
Missing out on the qualifiers will have its positives however with the forward in desperate need of a break and time to recover from United’s hectic schedule.
Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw will remain with the England side as they prepare to get their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign underway.
