The Nokia Scholarship is meant to promote efficient, fast-paced PhD studies and research. Nokia Scholarships are awarded to individuals pursuing PhD degrees in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) or disciplines that help the advancement of these scientific fields. A scholarship might be awarded for doctoral study at a Finnish university or to a Finnish applicant for PhD studies abroad. The best time to apply for the scholarship is when you have one or more accepted papers that you intend to include in your dissertation. When applying for the Scholarship, you should have a strong track record of fast-paced, high-quality PhD studies. The fellowship is intended to stimulate the applicant to complete an exceptional PhD project.
Benefits
The grantees of Nokia scholarships will be published in December 2024 on the Nokia Foundation website. Scholarships are paid directly to the grantees in December.
Requirements
The applicant must receive a commitment statement from his/her principal supervisor, who must be a professor, docent, or senior scientist at the university at which the student is pursuing their degree. The statement must be submitted to the application database by the supervisor. The scholarship can be granted no more than two times to the same individual.
