The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) Program offers merit-based scholarships to students pursuing master’s and doctorate degrees.
The OGS is a $15,000 annual grant granted to graduate students at many participating Canadian universities to help with living and study expenses.
Requirements:
To qualify for the 2025 Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) Canada, you must also complete the following requirements:
- You will be pursuing graduate studies at the master’s or doctorate levels.
- You will be enrolled in a full-time program for at least two terms (21 to 52 weeks total) during the academic year for which you are applying.
- You will attend one of the participating Ontario schools listed below.
The OGS is a merit-based scholarship. Your application is evaluated and graded using criteria established by the school you intend to attend.
Duration and Reward
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) grants are based on the number of terms of continuous studies within an academic year:
- $10,000 for 2 consecutive study terms
- $15,000 for 3 consecutive study terms
Each OGS award is issued for:
- a minimum of 1 academic year (2 or 3 consecutive academic terms)
- a maximum of 2 years (up to 6 consecutive academic terms).
