Scholarships for Postgraduate Study at Beit Trust for Africans 2025–2026

Applications for the Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships for Africans 2025–2026 will be accepted starting in September 2024. The Beit Trust is inviting African students to apply for a fully financed postgraduate scholarship position to study in South Africa or the UK. Eight UK universities and three South African universities work together to sponsor students who are passionate about pursuing a degree program through the Beit Trust. The number of scholarships that the Beit Trust can provide is increased because of the collaboration between the universities, which helps to share costs.

Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarship 2025 | Eligibility Criteria

By Act of Parliament, the Beit Trust supports ONLY students who are nationals of Zambia, Zimbabwe or Malawi, who hold permanent residence, live there and/or intend to return to their country after their studies. Academic Capability: we look first at those with a Distinction or Merit (Upper Second Class) in their undergraduate degree. Those with Lower Second Class or Credit/Pass degrees, while not ineligible to apply, will struggle to beat the competition. Those who already hold a postgraduate degree are likely only in the most exceptional cases to be considered for a Beit Postgraduate Scholarship. Professional Work Experience: important in the award of a scholarship. This should be relevant to the proposed field of study. Scholarship Benefits

Fees, tuition costs and related academic expenses.
A personal allowance, index-linked in accordance from an independent authority, covering maintenance support.
Other allowances are paid for arrival, a laptop and departure.
Economy class tickets to the place of study and on final return.

Application Procedure

How-to-Apply: Interested applicants for the Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarship 2025/26 are to apply by following the procedures as outlined:

Apply to any of the partner university in the UK and South Africa and be offered admission to study a postgraduate course.
Notify the partner university that he/she will be approaching the Beit Trust for scholarship funding and should also indicate the work experience.
Notify the Trust once application has been submitted to the partner university and also tell the trust which course is being applied for.
Confirm their nationality to the Trust; Zambians are to send their application form for confirmation to scholarships@beittrust.org.uk
Applicants from Zimbabwe and Malawi are to send theirs to africa@beittrust.org.uk.
Applications, with all the supporting documents are to be uploaded online via the scholarship application link before the application deadline.

A personal statement(no longer than 500 words) to explain in your own words how you think a postgraduate degree will benefit your country and its development.
A clear recent photograph of yourself: not a passport photo, but something that shows you to your best advantage.
A clear copy of your valid passport, showing date of issue and expiry.
