Scholarships from the Federal Government (BEA) to Study Abroad 2025–2026. The Federal Scholarship Board, on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, is pleased to extend an invitation to interested and eligible Nigerians to apply for the Scholarships from the Federal Government (BEA) to Study Abroad 2025–2026. Undergraduate studies that can be completed in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt, and Algeria, as well as postgraduate studies that can be completed in Russia, China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania, are eligible for the Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Awards.

Scholarships from the Federal Government (BEA) to Study Abroad 2025–2026 | Qualifications

In order to be eligible for the 2025 Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarship, candidates need to fulfill the following requirements:

In the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June), all undergraduate applicants must have at least seven (7) distinctions (As & Bs) in courses related to their fields of study, such as mathematics and English language. For non-African countries, certificates should not be older than two years (2023 & 2024), while for African countries, they should only be one year (2024). The age range is 17–20 years old. A first degree with at least one class or two classes upper division is required of all postgraduate applicants. The age limit for master’s and doctoral programs is 35 and 40 years old, respectively, and all applicants must have finished the NYSC program.

Important Information for All Candidates:

  1. Candidates should be ready to complete a required one-year foreign language course in the country of their choosing, which will serve as the normal medium of teaching, as the BEA countries do not speak English;
  2. All applicants for the Hungarian Scholarship must visit the website www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu, which started in mid-November 2024 and closed on January 15, 2025. They are allowed to apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference. Fill out the online application.
  3. The first degree must have been earned in Russia for all candidates for the Russian Postgraduate Scholarship;
  4. All candidates for Russia should go to the newly launched website at http://education-in-Russia.com.
  5. The following certificates should be uploaded online by all applicants.

Undergrad (UG): Postgraduate (PG): WAEC/WASSCE

NYSC discharge certificate, Indigene letter, first degree certificate, and master’s degree WAEC/WASSCE.

NB: The following must be submitted to the Federal Scholarship Board by candidates the Board nominates:

  1. copies of academic credentials that have been verified;
  2. the current international passport’s data page;
  3. specific health reports from government medical facilities;
  4. Birth certificate and letter of Indigenous descent
  5. If required, a police clearance certificate.
