Studying in Sweden with the SI Pioneering Women in STEM Scholarship | Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for SI Women in STEM Scholarship to study in Sweden, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must be a female citizen of one of the 10 eligible countries.
Applicants with dual citizenship and both eligible for SI scholarship should choose only one citizenship when applying for the scholarship.
Must have obtained relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning.
Applicants must be admitted into a designated master’s programme in STEM, focusing on one or more core areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Applicants must not have resided in Sweden for more than two years before the scholarship application.
Eligible countries: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam
Benefits
Full tuition fee coverage. The fee is paid directly by SI to your Swedish university in the beginning of each semester.
A monthly stipend of SEK 12,000 to cover your living expenses throughout the study period.
A travel grant of SEK 15,000. This is a one-time payment and does not apply for students already living in Sweden.
Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP) – a platform to help you grow professionally and build a network while in Sweden.
After your scholarship period has ended, you become a member of the SI Alumni Network. As a member, you get a unique opportunity for continued networking and professional development.
Application Procedures
How-to-Apply: Interested applicants for the SI Pioneering Women in STEM Scholarship are to first apply for admission into an eligible course at Swedish Institute through the University Admissions. Applicants will then contact the Swedish Institute to let them know of their application. Notifications will be sent from University Admissions and Swedish Institute (SI) to applicants who have successfully completed their applications.
