Applications for the AIM New AI for Science Master’s Scholarship Program are invited from students around Africa who are passionate about mathematics, AI, and machine learning. AIMS South Africa is now offering a new stream in its Master of Mathematical Science degree called AI for Science, thanks to a partnership with DeepMind. The software is located at the fascinating nexus of science and AI. Over the course of a year, the master’s program, which focuses on research, is taught only in residential settings.

The New AI for Science Master’s Scholarship Program’s requirements

Candidates must be African residents at the time of application.
It is necessary to be a citizen of any African country.
By August 2024, a four-year undergraduate degree or a three-year undergraduate degree with an honors year must have been completed.
Undergraduate degrees may be awarded in subjects that heavily rely on mathematics and computation.
In South Africa, one must finish either degree to be eligible for a master’s degree.

How to Apply for the New AI Master’s Scholarship in Science Program

Create an account at apply.aims.ac.za and upload the necessary files.
Provide written math problems, a motivation letter, transcripts of studies, a CV, and any coding errors.
There are twelve arithmetic tasks and one coding challenge in the online application.
AIMS South Africa is encouraging aspiring DeepMind Scholars to apply as early as possible.
Candidates who have been shortlisted will take part in the second phase, which is an online test with the same coding and math problems as the first.
